In my generation, it seems as if everyone is or has been sexually active. However, there are still young adults who either have not been sexually active yet or decided to practice celibacy. Of course, there is nothing wrong with sex… it is natural and something humans should do. Yet, some people think that those who are not sexually active are not “grown-up” about the situation or extremely religious. There are several different reasons why people are Abstinent. For one, there is nothing wrong with a person believing or actually being in love with the thought of belonging to only one person ever. When I say belong, I mean to only want to give their body to one person they grow to have an unconditional special bond with. This logic is not crazy and if you take your time & be patient, there is so much to gain instead of lose. In my generation, people have all types of issues with relations….trust issues, fear that everyone is unfaithful, relationships built around sex, and etc. I hear so much negative stuff concerning relationships and bashing genders all because people have dealt with someone who did them wrong or left an negative impression on them. Yet, alot of them are only in their early twenties. This is very sad in my opinion .Being Abstinent, of course you don’t have to worry about STDs, etc. You also more than likely don’t have a “tainted” view on relationships and love. You don’t see things the way your peers do . Sex can change alot of things and dealing with people you may later on learn to completely dislike can affect your view on relations. And let me tell you this: Yes, we are all sexual beings with sex hormones. However many people who are Abstinent share values/morals that may not be popular now or “in style”….and it influences their whole mentality on sex. Why? Well, as a female, I don’t bash young women my age who have a more untraditional view on sex/body count. However , don’t ridicule me or anyone else (man or woman) for having a more old fashion view on relations. If someone wants to take their time to get to know people, date without having sex, then let them live. Don’t bash them or think they are crazy just because they stand by their values and beliefs. Being Abstinence has some challenges, but in the end it is worth it if you really want it to be. Not to mention, you can actually learn alot from Abstinent people. Either way, there is nothing wrong with those who are not trying to save themselves for one person, but those who practice Abstinence believes that it is worth the wait. And, what’s so delusional or wrong about that?
Being shy is something that I know too much about. There has been times when this trait has back fired on me & made something one big misunderstanding. However, the person doesn’t know that I’m shy so they mistake it for something else. Being shy can actually stop or prevent you from taking good chances. Being shy is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is a trait that I honestly don’t really want anymore. There have been times when I stepped out of my shy shell, and I went back into it because something happened that rubbed me the wrong way. But, I can’t keep making excuses because I want to un-shy myself. Not be something I’m not, but a Tanzy without her shyness. You get my drift. So, I ask myself….what would Tanzy be like without her awkward shyness? Probably still awkward at times in certain situations, but less shy. I will eventually find out sooner than later .I encouage other shy people who may be missing out on certain things to not change who they are….but try to open up and um, spread your wings more. Yes, that was so corny but I tried.
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrel were a amazing duo & this is one of my favorite songs by them. Old school love songs like this one is absolutely timeless. This song was covered by Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn in the 80’s as well. I think it is also so sweet & beautiful that somewhere out there in the world, there are couples who may have been married for 50 years or more, & this could be one of their favorite love songs. I always smile to myself whenever I see senior couples walking, holding hands, & being so into each other. This song was meant for couples like that…people who are best friends, have a bond/connection that goes far beyond the physical, and brings long term happiness in each other’s lives.
This is still my favorite The Lonely Island song. The hilarious lyrics & dance always get’s stuck in my head after I see the video and hear the song. Also, for some reason this song gives me an energy boost and I need all of the energy that I can get since I will be attending a major hair show tomorrow for most of the day. I love songs with a comedic approach & nature because the right one makes me laugh to myself during random times of the day. Like, I could be at work or walking down the street & think of this song…then just start smiling or laughing.
This film was so cleverly made because they basically took all of the most popular forms of music styles, major events, & famous musicians….& they placed all of this into one story about a very interesting man name Dewey. Dewey represents all of these things in the form of one man. This parody film is a classic, in my opinion.
The Lin Kuei faction is the most honorable & loyal out of all the factions. I was going to choose the White Lotus Faction just for the backgrounds (yeah, I know that’s messed up). I also know that I am late on posting this, as this game has been out since April 15th. Besides Game of Thrones, I may choose a character from Mortal Kombat for the 2015 Dragon Con Event…I don’t know yet. I’ve never been to one & I’m excited even though it’s not until September. Anyways, have a great day & choose your faction wisely lol
Besides Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Tom Morello, I remember when I was 13 years old & first heard ”Icky Thump” on a radio station that was called Project 96.1. I immediately was like ” How did he do that?” lol. I mean, of course I knew he was playing a guitar…but it was the way that he was playing which moved me. After that, I started listening to guitar music more & decided to learn how to play myself. Jack White, despite what some people have to say about his guitar techniques, is one of my top favorite guitar players of all time. The White Stripes is one of those bands that just comes around & quickly elevate themselves into ”legendary” status. Future Rock n Roll Hall of Famers, of course.
Cage The Elephant is one of my favorite bands, and this song has some pretty interesting lyrics to think about. All of the lyrics are thought provoking, but I just put an emphasis on the chorus because it has been in my head a lot lately.
Come a little closer, then you’ll see. Come on, come on, come on. Things aren’t always what they seem to be. Come on, come on, come on. Do you understand the things that you’ve been seeing? Come on, come on, come on. Do you understand the things that you’ve been dreaming? Come a little closer, then you’ll see.
