When People Don’t Really Understand The Message/Lyrics To A Song: This Is A Perfect Example (Nirvana’s In Bloom)

This video and song is a great example of what happens a lot with some music listeners and not fully understanding the message of a song.  Some musicians do not say things in a straightforward way and you have to actually take time to analyze the lyrics…decode the meaning/message behind it. Some people don’t care and will like it just because the beat/vibe sounds nice  However, how can you truly understand or ”feel” a musician and their music if you really don’t have any idea what their talking about…just that it sounds ”rebellious” or ”different”? I mean, you don’t have to have personal experience or feel exactly the same way as the artist, but at least put an emphasis on the lyrics. During the whole ”grunge” movement when it started to become popular mainstream music, there were probably a lot of people who sang along to Nirvana’s lyrics, wore flannel shirts, and whatever ”fit” the image….but they did not truly know or understand what was being said in the lyrics. This bandwagon thing happens in every generation, it is happening now, and will always happen.

He’s the one
Who likes all the pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And He likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it mean
